We got to know of this poor dog JJ who was chained with a choke chain at small confined place for past 5mths in the house. He will eat, pee and poo at the same small space. Owner claimed he was given this dog by someone when he was a puppy. The dog can be smiling but when we try to approach him, he will snarl and turn aggressive. Hyperactive with lots of pent up energy and frustration. Owner stayed in rented HDB and looking to give up JJ as he is afraid JJ will turn aggressive towards his daughter. We saw the bruise (HEART PAIN!!) on JJ neck caused by the metal semi choke chain and passed a new Red Dingo semi choke collar (softer material) to him instead.
What can we say about this case? A dog's life was wasted as there's no proper training when he was young. We understand there are many strays puppies out there and many people are trying their best to help the strays. However, we hope Rescuers/Rehomers can screen their potential adopters carefully as a dog's/cat's life can be ruined if they were hastily rehomed with no proper check and procedures on the potential adopters.
We feel sad for JJ. It will take a long time for him to learn to socialise and trusting to people again.

Remember the dog JJ that was previously chained up in a flat? He is finally smiling 😊 This boy will need some time to trust human again. Take your time JJ. You have the freedom to run in the kennel and a bed to sleep on. Take one step at a time. You will start to enjoy your new life.

Latest update on JJ, the poor dog that was chained up at one corner and became defensive when any stranger approaches him. We have removed JJ from his owner flat to a shelter where he has ample space to run amd enjoy the freedom. JJ has become more playful and we loves how he play the Kong Toy. We are happy with his progress. JJ, Take your time. You are doing well.

We brought the previous owner of JJ to the shelter to loosen his collar. We saw a touching scene. JJ was very happy to see his previous owner. We feel like tearing up - its true that the dog is man's best friend. When we took JJ from his house 3mth ago, he was fierce and baring his teeth (https://purelyadoptions.com/rescue_tales/2020-jj/). 3mth later, he is a much happier dog and most importantly, he didnt forget his owner despite being chained up at home.
We will find a good home for JJ. We are glad we took him in and put him at commercial boarding for rehabilitation, giving him a chance to find a home. He is medium size and is HDB approved. As we are not sure if he will turn defensive again, we will prefer an experienced dog owner. If you like to know about him, pls contact 90018848.
