Scooby

26 NOVEMBER 2017

Purely Adoptions has been alerted to rehome a beagle called Scooby. When we arrived at the owner's place, we are shocked and sad to see the conditions of both Scooby and Wally

This small space where they are kept is dirty, filled with pee and poo and there is no water for the dogs. While we understand that the owner is an elderly lady in her 85 years old. The helper who is suppose to take care of the dogs has not shower the dogs for months. The dogs are filled with pee and poo. The fur are matted and tangled with poo at the backside.

We are here to help the dogs, please do not finger point here. We need help with fosterers to come forward to help us to foster the dogs please. We will be sending the dogs to the groomer and vet for a check up.

Important lessons here. Please look to rehome your dogs should you are not able to take care of them. Please do not neglect your dogs to such terrible conditions.

Should you be able to help with fostering of this Maltese Wally or beagle Scooby please message Purely Adoptions at 90018848.

Scooby, 8yr, male beagle is ready for his new home. He is happy-go-lucky, affectionate and loves to meet new friends (except for some dogs). He has a bit of food aggression when he is with other dogs and maybe that explain his size (slightly obese). To adopt him, pls contact 90018848 (Purely Adoptions)

Scooby went to see the vet today. He needs to have his gallbladder removed and its gonna cost us few thousands for the operation. We are waiting for the clinic to give us an estimated cost and hope the public can help us with the medical fee. Scooby is back at foster's place with some more medication before we schedule the operation. Loves the smile on Scooby's face. He doesn't look like a sick patient. Rather he is saying when life gives you lemon, make lemonade 🙂

1 MAY 2018

Scooby, the rescued senior beagle went for trial homestay today.

Scooby has weak liver and probably need to be on medication and special diet for life. Potential Adopter Charlotte and Kelvin doesn't mind. They know it will be hard for Scooby to find a home with his condition. They brought Scooby out for few times to bond with their dog Sausage and they even engaged their trainer - Richard Lim The Dog Behaviorist to be presence when Scooby went for his trial homestay.

This lovely couple is prepared to include Scooby in their life provided their dog Sausage can accept him. Let's see how it goes 1 week later.

Sausage darling, be a good brother to Scooby during this one week ya

5 JUNE 2018

We just received Scooby's estimated surgery bill from the clinic. Scooby was given up when the family could not cope. We sent him to the vet for checkup and found that he has some medical issue. We put him on medication and arranged for 2 ultrasound scan before and after the medication and found no difference in the report results. We further confirmed (after visiting 2 different experienced Vets) his gall bladder does has an issue and we need to remove it before it ruptures and it might be fatal.

We have an estimated surgery quote of $3,970.40 provided there's no complication. We have received the donation from the following:

1. Lim Siew Wei - $100

2. Anonymous - $50

3. Marina - $500

Total received: $650

Outstanding: $3,320.40

We hope the public can help us with the medical bill so that we can schedule an operation date soon. If you like to help, you can donate to Purely Adoptions UOB Current A/C: 631-302-019-0 Or u can write a cheque to "Purely Adoptions Limited" and post to : PO Box 236, Thomson Rd Post Office S915708. Today is Scooby's second day at the clinic after his operation. He is doing well and is able to go for short walk. Foster mummy bought lots of treats for him and he finished it! We are pretty sure his big appetite is back to normal 😂. We will keep him at the clinic for observation. If everything goes well, he is free to go back to fosterer's place on Tuesday 😀

18 JULY 2018

Its official! Scooby's foster Daddy Kelvin and Mummy @Charlotte Tan-Ong decided to take care of Scooby for the rest of his life. We are not sure if Scooby need to be on long term medication as his review is next month but Kelvin and Charlotte decided to proceed with the adoption. They considered Scooby (being a senior dog) might not get adopted easily and probably has to be on long term medication/supplements due to his health reason. Apart from that, he has bad food aggression and is not be suitable for family with young kids. Both Kelvin and Charlotte have been bitten by him but still they didnt give up on him. They commented he just need to build his trust in human. Other than the food aggression, he is a sweet boy.

Scooby's wound is healing up nicely and we feel he is a lot happier. He will ask for tummy rub and loves to be with human. 8mth ago when he was first rescued, he was neglected and look sad. Since then, he has moved to different foster homes and kennel, diagnosed with gall bladder issue and faced the possibility of not being adopted due to his health issue. However his luck changed when one of our volunteers Endajoy spotted her dog loving friend Charlotte at our Star Vista adoption drive and asked her to have a look at our dogs. Since that day, Charlotte has been thinking of Scooby and his sad expression at the adoption drive and decided to foster him. We believe everything happened for a reason. Maybe its fated that Endajoy volunteered with us on that day and Scooby finally get to meet his future family. Thank you Endajoy for creating this sweet ending for Scooby. Kelvin and Charlotte, thank you for your big heart and considered a dog that has least chance to be adopted. Both of you are such an angels.

15 AUGUST 2018

Scooby went for his 3rd review after his operation 2 month ago. His ALKP is still high and he will need to be on regular medication. Other than that, heis good. He also got a chance to take picture with the Vet Dr Dennis Choi of Mt Pleasant Gelanggang who saved his life. Love the smiles on the vet and doggy.

12 MARCH 2019

Another 1 year challenge photo from Scooby's mummy Charlotte. Loves to read her heart warming encounterment with Scooby, her adopter dog at our adoption drive. When we rescued Scooby, he was not well and need to go for operation and be on long term medication. This did not defer Charlotte from giving him the best of everything. Her kind heart can't help feeling sorry for him and hope she can help him as much as possible. 1 year later, Scooby is a very happy dog and he seems to smile more often.

Thank you Kelvin and Charlotte for the updates.

1 MAY 2019

Time flies.. it has been 1 year since Scooby has been adopted. Thank you to those who donated to his operation last year. We are glad to see how happy he is now
